The South Yorkshire industrial AI company’s orders cover 15 manufacturing sites in the UK and Japan.

South Yorkshire industrial AI company IntelliAM AI plc has moved into the building products sector, winning contracts with Elland-based Marshalls and Castleford-based H+H.

It has also signed agreements with Tarmac and international building supplies firm Knauf covering sites in Japan and the UK.

The contracts total £250,000, and confirmed orders span 15 manufacturing sites. IntelliAM says its AI and machine learning tools improve productivity, quality, performance, efficiency and safety while cutting waste and increasing throughput.

The move into construction materials is a departure for a company best known for its work in FMCG and food and drink. It follows several months of consultancy work with major building product manufacturers.

Manufacturers in the sector face growing performance pressure, difficulty maintaining critical equipment and resource shortages. IntelliAM says connecting fully to its system helps them improve reliability, reduce engineering downtime and make maintenance more efficient in mechanically intensive and highly abrasive production settings.

The expansion is part of the company’s diversification strategy and comes weeks after it announced a major contract extension with bakery brand Hovis.

Tom Clayton, chief executive of Dinnington-based IntelliAM AI, said: “Manufacturers across the building products sector are dealing with unique pressures ranging from abrasive production environments to growing challenges in staffing, resourcing, and maintaining critical assets.

“Our technology gives these teams the ability to stay connected 24/7, access engineering insights instantly, and make more proactive, data-driven decisions that enhance reliability and reduce downtime.

“What’s particularly exciting is that companies like Yorkshire’s Marshalls and H+H, as well as Knauf and Tarmac, initially came to us for consultancy support and are now choosing to fully connect their factories through IntelliAM’s predictive AI. It’s a strong validation of the value we bring, and we expect this vertical to continue its rapid growth through the end of the year.”

Aquis-listed IntelliAM was founded in 2023, building on the technology of Sheffield-based 53 Degrees North. It works with a quarter of the world’s top 100 FMCG companies and half of the 12 largest food and drink manufacturers, including Müller, Mars, ADM, Weetabix and Diageo.
