Bruntwood hires former N Brown COO Nuno Miller as its first chief technology officer
The property group has created the role as it reaches 50 years in business and plans to make technology central to its next stage of growth.
Bruntwood has named Nuno Miller, previously chief operating officer at N Brown, as the property group’s first chief technology officer.
The appointment comes as Bruntwood celebrates its 50th year and sets out to place technology at the centre of its next phase of growth.
At N Brown, Miller was responsible for transformation, technology, data, AI and cybersecurity. He played a key part in moving the retailer towards a digital-first model, building a new multi-brand ecommerce platform and updating the group’s technology systems.
Before that he held senior technology, digital and transformation roles at Farfetch, Deloitte and Sonae, covering retail, ecommerce and consumer businesses.
In the newly created post, Miller will report to chief executive Chris Oglesby and lead Bruntwood’s digital strategy. His remit includes improving customer experiences, linking up the group’s systems and finding ways to use AI and automation to make operations more efficient and open up room for innovation.
He will also develop the group’s technology and digital team as it looks to add capabilities and expertise.
Oglesby said: “As we mark 50 years as a business, creating this role is a clear statement of where we’re heading next. Our customers expect the same quality from their digital experience as they get from the spaces we create, and our colleagues deserve tools that help them do their best work. Nuno brings exactly the experience we need to make technology a real differentiator for Bruntwood, and I’m delighted to welcome him to the Executive Team.”
Miller said: “Bruntwood has built exceptional places and communities where innovative businesses thrive. The opportunity now is to use technology and data to make them even more connected for the people who use them. By bringing together customers, colleagues, buildings and services in smarter ways, and applying AI and automation where they create real value, we can enhance how the business operates today while helping shape the next generation of places, experiences and services.”
Bruntwood ranks among the UK’s leading property companies. Since 2018 it has been a shareholder in Bruntwood SciTech, which develops innovation districts and specialist space for the science and technology sector. Bruntwood SciTech is valued at £1.5bn and its portfolio covers 5.6m sq ft in Manchester, Cheshire, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Cambridge.
