Channel 4 orders two more series of Our Farm Next Door from Wise Owl Films

Channel 4 has commissioned two further series of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids from Leeds-based Wise Owl Films.

For 3 years it has been More4’s highest rated programme. It follows the Owen family and their 9 children as they restore a derelict farmhouse.

“Our Farm Next Door is a joy of a series that holds a special place in the hearts of our More4 viewers,” said Jayne Stanger, commissioning editor for Channel 4.

“I am thrilled we’re continuing to work with the team at Wise Owl to follow Amanda, Clive and the whole family on their renovation journey and I can’t wait to see whether Anty John’s might ever be finished!”

Series 5 and 6 will see the production company return to the Yorkshire Dales to film the renovation and Amanda’s research into the previous owner, 19th century Swaledale mapmaker Anthony Clarkson.

“Amanda admits she has never seen a renovation show on TV, which might help explain why we think Our Farm Next Door is unlike any other series on television,” said James Knight, creative director at Wise Owl Films.

“The combination of family life, the farming calendar and the subject of succession on the farm, the ever-revealing history of Anty John’s and of course the appropriately slow (reflecting Swaledale life) renovation of the building means there is always something fascinating going on for us filming with the Owens.”

He added that the team was pleased viewers were finding comfort and pleasure in what can seem like chaos.

The 10×60-minute commission will air on More4 as two 5×60 series.

Wise Owl Films sits within Banijay UK’s Lime Pictures as a non-scripted label.
