The Genius Group makes new hires as it aims for 100-plus staff

The Altrincham lead generation agency has added video, ecommerce and sales roles after moving into new headquarters at Foundation on George Street.

The Genius Group team

Altrincham marketing agency The Genius Group (TGG) has made a series of new appointments as it continues to grow.

The hires follow its move into new headquarters at Foundation on George Street, which were designed to accommodate its expanding team.

Recruitment began late last year when Gemma Barlow joined as head of people in late November. She spent five years at LADbible Group, almost three of them as head of HR in Manchester.

She said at the time: “I’m so happy to be part of the team and can’t wait for what’s ahead, including continuing to build and champion a people-first culture, supporting development, wellbeing and growth and creating and driving meaningful HR initiatives.”

In January Ben Herbert joined the creative and development team as senior video producer, and Ben Taylor was hired as a Shopify and ecommerce developer. Georgina Goldman has joined the Valid8 team as sales administration assistant, and there have been further appointments in office support, development and UX, and marketing.

Director Chris Niebel said: “This is an exciting chapter for The Genius Group. Each of our new team members brings a valuable set of skills that will strengthen the business as we continue to deliver high-quality, results-driven lead generation campaigns.

“The move to our new HQ marks a significant investment in our future and these hires are an integral part of that journey.”

Niebel founded the business with Mark Shephard in 2017. It started with six staff and now employs more than 40, and plans to grow its team beyond 100 this year.

The company says its work in digital marketing and technology has generated more than £2.3bn in sales for clients over the past three years.

Its charity donations recently reached £100,000, including work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation and SameYou. It marked the opening of its new offices with a £42,000 donation to Manchester-based Prevent Breast Cancer.
