MTJ PR rebrands as Mighty & Kin after management buyout
Managing director Claire Murgatroyd, who has been with the Salford FMCG agency for 20 years, completed the buyout.
North West FMCG PR specialist MTJ PR has changed its name to Mighty & Kin.
The rebrand follows Claire Murgatroyd, the managing director, completing a management buyout. She reaches 20 years with the business this month.
The new name replaces the founder's initials. The agency says 'Mighty' stands for strength and the ability to get things done, while 'Kin' reflects the team's heart, loyalty, trust and integrity.
The Salford agency's clients include Quorn, AG Barr and Kepak-owned Rustlers, with Rustlers on the books for 20 years, AG Barr for 19 and Quorn for nine.
Murgatroyd said: “I’m excited about this new chapter for us. The name and brand reflect who we really are as an agency. Often described as ‘small but mighty’, we know how to deliver powerful and impactful work, that is driven by integrity and purpose.”
“I’ll be the first to admit, we’ve often flown under the radar, focussing on our clients rather than ourselves,” she said.
“But I think it’s time to shout about the brilliant work being done by our brilliant team of PR experts. This next era as Mighty & Kin will drive us to do that.”
The change comes after a strong year for the agency, which it attributes to long-standing client relationships, new business wins and its reputation for purpose-led FMCG campaigns.
The new brand, vision and proposition were developed with Quansah Consulting, BIB Inc Ltd and Rise & Amplify.
