ANS reports 83% cut in IT alert noise after deploying LogicMonitor’s Edwin AI

The Manchester managed services provider also reports a 500% return on its investment and a 44% fall in incident resolution times.

Kyle Hill, chief technology officer of ANS Group

Manchester managed services provider ANS says it has reduced IT alert noise by 83% and cut average incident resolution times by 44% since it started using LogicMonitor’s Edwin AI in August.

In early results published on 4 November, ANS also put the return on its additional Edwin AI spend at 500%, and said SLA performance had stayed above 97% throughout.

Edwin AI groups related alerts, speeds up investigations and suggests next steps. ANS says this is helping it move engineering capacity away from reactive incident management and towards more proactive services for customers.

“AI gives us an opportunity to fundamentally rethink how managed services are delivered,” said Kyle Hill, chief technology officer at ANS Group. “Our ambition is to free up our engineers’ capacity so they can focus their expertise where it makes the biggest difference for customers, whether that’s reducing costs, improving resilience or preventing issues before they happen.”

ANS uses LogicMonitor Envision alongside Edwin AI to link related events and surface root-cause context, so engineers can move from investigation to a fix more quickly.

The 83% fall in alert noise comes from AI-driven event correlation, which filters out alerts that need no action.

Observability incidents are down 45%. Monitoring-generated incidents fell from around 4,300 in July to 2,383 by 29 October, which ANS puts down to better event consolidation as well as normal seasonal variation.

The 44% cut in resolution time relates to the average time from a case being opened to being closed, which fell significantly in October.

In total the tool has handled 1.7 million events and removed nearly 297,000 duplicate alerts, cutting repetitive work.

ANS is putting the freed-up engineering time into proactive improvements for customers, such as cloud cost optimisation, security enhancements and automation.

In Q3, as ANS began embedding Edwin AI in its AI-augmented operating model, engineers completed 21% more proactive success cases. These give the company a structured way to convert time freed from reactive work into practical improvements in customer environments.

ANS has also given customers more than 225 value-added recommendations, and realised savings of more than £50,000 for one customer alone.

The 500% return on investment figure is based on the value of recognised reductions in operational effort, measured against the incremental spend on Edwin AI.

“Most IT teams aren’t short on problems to solve. They’re short on time to get ahead of them,” said Karthik Sj, chief AI officer at LogicMonitor. “Engineers can spend less time chasing alerts and more time improving the systems their customers depend on.”
