Supreme PLC signs UK licensing deal to make and distribute Carabao energy drinks

The Manchester consumer goods group behind Typhoo and SlimFast will produce and supply the League Cup sponsor’s energy and isotonic range across Britain.

Carabao energy drinks

Supreme PLC, the Manchester consumer goods business that owns Typhoo and SlimFast, has agreed a UK licensing deal with energy drink brand Carabao.

Under the agreement Supreme will manufacture, supply and distribute Carabao’s energy and isotonic drinks for the British market, adding to its presence in the fast-growing functional beverages category.

Supreme also distributes for other FMCG and consumer goods companies, covering drinks, wellness and vaping. For the 12 months to March 2026 it expects revenues to have risen 15% to approximately £265 million, with adjusted EBITDA of around £40.6 million, comfortably beating the £37 million consensus forecast.

The group has also put £12.4 million into strategic acquisitions and a further £5 million into its manufacturing capabilities as part of its growth plans.

Drinks & Wellness division

Carabao will join Supreme’s Drinks & Wellness division, alongside Typhoo Tea, Perfectly Clear flavoured water and SlimFast. Supreme said the deal fits its strategy of growing its footprint in soft drinks and wellness.

Carabao was founded in Thailand in 2002 and is now sold around the world. Football has been central to its identity, and it currently sponsors England’s League Cup.

Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury’s are among the major UK supermarkets that already stock the brand. Supreme will deal directly with retailers to widen that distribution.

Sandy Chadha, chief executive of Supreme, said: “Carabao is a fantastic brand with strong heritage, high consumer awareness and a clear identity in the energy drinks category. This partnership sits firmly within Supreme’s strengths. Our manufacturing capability, innovation expertise and distribution network give us the platform to build on Carabao’s existing presence and drive further growth in the UK market.

“We see a real opportunity to expand the brand’s reach, develop new products and ensure that more consumers can find Carabao on shelves across the country.”

The companies said demand for energy drinks keeps rising as shoppers look for functional products that suit busy and active lifestyles, and they aim to combine Carabao’s brand recognition with Supreme’s production and retail relationships.

Romtham Sathientham, managing director of Carabao Group, said: “As part of our ongoing strategy to strengthen the Carabao brand in the UK, we are pleased to appoint Supreme Imports Limited as our official distribution partner. Their strong local expertise and established network make them ideally positioned to support our customers. We remain fully committed to the UK and look forward to this next phase of growth with confidence.”

Production will take place at Supreme’s soft drinks plant, and the group will also handle product innovation and distribution through its national retail network.
