The Vaccines to headline first Live at Tileyard North concert in Wakefield

Promoter Futuresound is launching a two-week outdoor concert series at the Tileyard North development in August 2026.

Live at Tileyard North

Independent West Yorkshire promoter Futuresound is launching Live at Tileyard North, an outdoor concert series in Wakefield next summer, with The Vaccines headlining the first show on Sunday 30 August 2026.

Futuresound has been running events in the region for almost 30 years. It is behind large outdoor events including Live at Leeds, Slam Dunk, Live at York Museum Gardens and Live at Kirkstall Abbey, and has been nominated for regional promoter of the year at the 2025 Live Awards.

The new series will bring two weeks of outdoor shows to the courtyard of the Tileyard North development during August 2026, featuring established acts and newer artists. More details of the programme are due shortly.

The Vaccines will perform their 2011 debut, What Did You Expect From the Vaccines?, in its entirety to mark its 15th anniversary, along with a selection of songs from their five later albums.

Zane Lowe once called the band’s 2010 demo of ‘If You Wanna’ “the hottest record in the world”, and they have since shared stages with Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Rolling Stones. Their sixth album, 2024’s Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations, revisits their original West Coast influences through a British indie rock lens.

A postcode pre-sale for residents near Tileyard North (WF1, WF2, WF3, WF4 and WF6) opens at 10am on Wednesday 26 November, alongside a pre-sale for the promoter’s mailing list. General sale opens at 10am on Friday 28 November.

Toby Womack, promoter at Futuresound Events, said: “We’ve always prided ourselves on working closely with the communities we promote in; building events, networks and relationships that continue to grow and thrive. We’re so excited to be investing long-term locally in our neighbouring city of Wakefield and we can’t wait to share what else we’ve got planned for Live at Tileyard North.”

Sam Townend, head of events at Tileyard North, said: “We’re thrilled to be joining forces with Futuresound to launch a groundbreaking new era of live music in Wakefield. This is set to be the biggest event series the city has ever seen, and we’re incredibly proud to help bring these landmark shows to life here at Tileyard North.”
