Natalie Portman writes to her daughter in first Tiffany & Co campaign film
Directed by Mona Fastvold and Brady Corbet and shot on 70mm, the film premiered during the Oscars.
Tiffany & Co has released a global campaign film starring Natalie Portman, its newest House ambassador. First shown during the Oscars, the film looks at five sides of love through several of the brand’s most recognisable collections, with particular attention to HardWear by Tiffany.
Mona Fastvold and Brady Corbet directed the film, with cinematography by Hoyte van Hoytema. It is a personal portrait in which Portman plays herself in a luxury campaign for the first time, writing a letter to her daughter about resilience, vulnerability and self-worth.
“Strength appears in different ways throughout our lives– through courage, curiosity, compassion and joy. It’s found in the thrill of growth and in the discovery of new dimensions within ourselves,” Portman said. “Mona and Brady have crafted a beautiful and meaningful film that reflects the experience I’ve had over the years and the journey that continues to shape who I am becoming.”
A reinterpretation of Moon River runs throughout, a reference to Breakfast at Tiffany’s and the brand’s history.
Fastvold and Corbet said: “Collaborating with Tiffany & Co. was an honour and a pleasure. We were drawn to the opportunity to create something aligned with their historic identity. The film was shot on 70mm, a format that allowed us to reflect the brand’s craftsmanship with extraordinary fidelity. We’re grateful for the trust and care that made the collaboration possible.”
