Lionheart Marketing moves All About Party Bags to Shopify as conversion rises
The Redcar ecommerce agency migrated more than 1,600 SKUs from WooCommerce, and the retailer's conversion rate climbed from 1.48% to 2.24% in the first 30 days.
All About Party Bags, a family-run online retailer, has increased its conversion rate since Teesside ecommerce agency Lionheart Marketing moved its store from WordPress to Shopify.
For more than 20 years the business has sold celebration supplies, fillers and pre-filled party bags.
Its WooCommerce site had become slow and hard to manage, meaning routine tasks such as adding products and launching new ranges “took far longer than they should.” The retailer also had concerns about security and was paying a continuing retainer to keep plugins updated.
Lionheart Marketing, which has looked after the retailer's SEO and PPC for several years, has migrated more than 1,600 SKUs as well as historical orders, customer records and blog content. Every legacy URL was mapped to protect the site's search visibility.
The Redcar agency rebuilt the store around the way parents plan a party. New features include theme-matched cross-selling under an “Add to the Fun” banner, a best sellers collection and suggestions for related party themes.
Lionheart also built custom bundle functionality. Each party bag appears to shoppers as one product, while its component SKUs are tracked behind the scenes for warehouse pick lists and stock control.
In the 30 days since the new site launched, conversion has gone from 1.48% to 2.24%, and impressions are up by 7,900.
Leigh Holland, co-founder of Lionheart Marketing, said: “We’d been talking to our client about Shopify for a while, but most brands are nervous about migrations, and so they should be, because it’s a huge risk when you’ve worked hard for your rankings. Everyone talks about the customer experience, but the employee experience matters just as much. Their old system was so slow the team stopped using it, so new products just sat there instead of going live. You can’t grow like that, so now they can build their own pages, launch new ranges quickly and manage the site themselves, without needing a developer for the simplest tasks.”
Samantha Scott, ecommerce director at AllAboutPartyBags.co.uk, said: “Lionheart took time to understand our business, what we wanted from the new website and what would create a better experience for customers. Our new Shopify site is modern, easy to navigate and far better suited to growth, and our team are finding it so much easier to use which saves a huge amount of time. It’s far exceeded our expectations.”
Leigh and Cara Holland set up Lionheart Marketing in 2020, and Matt Marchant joined them in 2026. Its clients include retail, fashion and B2B brands such as Merchant & Mills and Aspiga, and it holds official sponsor status with Middlesbrough Football Club.
