Research unveiled at the Northern Tech Summit in Sheffield says closer collaboration between regions could help the North compete globally, as its businesses win just 3.7% of UK venture capital.
The Chester venture capital manager is taking subscriptions for its SEIS fund, which backs early-stage technology and life sciences businesses and university spin-outs.
PXN Ventures and the British Business Bank say demand from North West businesses justified the boost, which runs the fund to 2030.
The proposed fund will make investments of £5m to £15m in high-growth businesses across the North West, the North East, and Yorkshire and the Humber.
